About Space Happy Hour

What is Space Happy Hour?

Space Happy Hour is the gathering of Space Industry professionals, in various cities., about once a month. Some events are hosted by companies that manufacture spacecraft or are involved in other space-related activities. Other events are held at bars, breweries or other gathering places. While there are typically introductions and some brief announcements (5-10 minutes) the focus of Space Happy Hour is networking. Find your next career, a hard-to-find vendor, a place for start-ups and VCs to connect, or just geek out on all the amazing projects in the space industry.

How Did It Get Started?

Space Happy Hour was started by Seattle-based Craig Baerwaldt in April 2022. He believed that Seattle needed a much better way for the space industry to connect with each other, share ideas, and discuss innovations. Originally, he brought doughnuts to various space companies in the area to rally attendance. Now Space Happy Hour is one of the hottest tickets in town!

Over the three years, Space Happy Hour expanded to seven other locations nationally and to Singapore. There are 75 Space Happy Hour events in 2025 alone. The events take place at breweries and space companies. There there are also marquee events such as conversations with astronauts and book signings. "Spaceball" events are thrown in periodically for the MLB baseball fans out there.
